The GhanaWeb Excellence Awards is an annual people’s choice award scheme launched to offer the GhanaWeb audiences and the general public the opportunity to recognise outstanding Ghanaians who have helped in the development of the country.

The awards are for and by Ghanaians who have worked hard in various fields of national development. It was created by GhanaWeb in 2021 as part of its 22 nd anniversary celebration.

This is the first ever audience- powered award scheme organised by an online media platform in Ghana to celebrate role models and future leaders who would inspire Ghanaian communities and make the country a better place to live in.

This year's edition will recognize and reward women across diverse sectors, including business, technology, arts, social impact, science and more. The audience-powered awards would offer the portal’s visitors the opportunity to decide who they believe have excelled in various categories over a period. The program will include a comprehensive nomination and selection process led by an esteemed panel of experts to ensure the highest level of integrity and transparency.

Any woman who has made noteworthy contributions to society in fields such as education, healthcare, technology, arts, social services, or any other domain is eligible for nomination. The contributions could be in the form of impactful projects, initiatives, leadership, advocacy, or community involvement
